The play "The Spectator Condemned to Death" returns to the stage of the Álvaro de Carvalho Theater (TAC) on November 28th and 29th, at 19:30 PM, with free admission. Tickets can be obtained in advance through Sympla.
Rated for ages 14 and up, it features a dark comedy with social commentary, irony, and intensity, questioning the boundaries between the individual and the collective, ethics and expediency.

In this work, the accused is anyone, or everyone: the crime is silence. As the trial progresses, the farce reveals itself as a mirror of society itself. Photo: Courtesy of @nathallia_ph
Inspired by the text of the Franco-Romanian playwright Matéi Visniec, translated by Fábio de Melo and directed by Leonardo Cesar, it starts with the Prosecutor's provocation, "Ladies and Gentlemen, there is a criminal among us!", to establish a tribunal on stage, where guilt and justice become intertwined.
Furthermore, the play invites the audience to reflect on the fragility of justice systems and the persistence of legitimized violence.
The staging features performances by Amanda Vizentainer, Carla D'Ambroz, Cristian Menna, Esther Pickrodt, Hael Kai, João Massadar, João Leffa, and Vinicius Pasinato. Lighting design and operation are by Hael Kai, sound operation by Leonardo Cesar, graphic design by Eric Tomas, and production assistance by Naiara Beneti.
The production is by Quinta Não Dá Companhia de Teatro, in partnership with the Ministry of Culture and the Federal Government, with sponsorship from the Franklin Cascaes Foundation and the Municipality of Florianópolis via the Aldir Blanc National Policy, and support from SESC Santa Catarina and Seareira Escola de Artes.
