On Sunday (14/04), the SESC Theater (Prainha), will be the stage for a grand event that promises to excite and delight the public: the DAY II - Multicultural Festival Neptune Circus. Designed to celebrate the International Art Day, the event also pays tribute to artists who played fundamental roles in the foundation of Brazilian culture at the beginning of the 20th century, as well as artists friends and idols who have already left.
The circus, a popular and captivating artistic event, will be the main protagonist of the night, bringing together eleven different artistic expressions on a single stage. From circus arts such as clowning, stilts, acrobatic fabric and juggling, to manifestations such as free art, medieval art, plastic arts, ethnic dances, music, poetry and theater, the event promises to offer a unique and unforgettable experience.
Standing out among the attractions will be the circus families Tereza, Canales, Stuart, Cardona and Grijó, whose history is intertwined with the trajectory of art in Brazil. Members such as Juan Cardona, Lili Stuart, Clotilde Teresa, Pilar Cardona, Grijó Sobrinho and Oscarito left a remarkable legacy, influencing various forms of artistic expression, from the circus to cinema and television.
The event will feature talented artists who will share the stage, promoting not only fun, but also solidarity and the celebration of art. The public will be able to watch performances by Bianca Nunes (Free Art), Jairo Kaster (Medieval Art), Mariana Di Lucia (Plastic Arts), Studio Ale Gutierrez (Ethnic Dances), Cristobal Ambrosio (Andean Flute & Malabares), among others.
In addition to a diverse and exciting program, DIA II is a free and charitable event, with the aim of collecting food for SESC partner NGOs. Entry will be subject to the donation of 1 kg of non-perishable food, thus promoting solidarity and support for needy communities.
The festival will be divided into three acts, each offering a unique experience to the public. From the troupe's triumphal entry to the tributes to the artists who have passed, the event promises to be an unforgettable celebration of art in all its forms.
DAY II - Netuno Circus Multicultural Festival is organized by Netuno Circus, with the cultural support of SESC (Prainha) and Mandarina Culinária Vegana, and has resources from the Federal Government and the Paulo Gustavo Cultural Emergency Law. This initiative is part of the project selected by the D+ notice (Law Paulo Gustavo SC 2023), thus promoting access to culture and strengthening artistic expressions.
