The Ademir Rosa Theater (CIC) in Florianópolis will host the Grand Opening Concert of the Classical Music Season, a show that Camerata Florianópolis will present on March 13, at 20:50 p.m. The event will feature the participation of award-winning violinist Cármelo de los Santos, who has performed with more than 32 international orchestras, including the New World Symphony and the Montevideo Philharmonic. Conducted by maestro Jeferson Della Rocca, the concert marks the beginning of the orchestra's XNUMXnd season. Tickets are available on the Blueticket website.

With a consolidated career as a soloist, chamber musician and teacher, Cármelo stands out in the classical music scene. At the age of 16, he won the VII Eldorado Music Award, beginning a career marked by awards in important international competitions. He is currently a full professor at the University of New Mexico and concertmaster of the New Mexico Philharmonic. In addition to his performances on stage, he dedicates himself to promoting Brazilian music through recordings, such as the CD “Sonatas Brasileiras”, which earned him the Açorianos Award for Best Classical CD and Best Classical Performer.

Special guest of Camerata Florianópolis, Cármelo returns for his fourth performance with the orchestra. His last performance, also held at CIC, in August 2016, was acclaimed by the audience.

The concert program features two works: Symphony No. 9 "From the New World" by Antonín Dvořák, and the Concerto for Violin and Orchestra in D Major by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, considered one of the most challenging of its kind.
