Held only in 2018, in the central space of Beiramar Shopping, and in 2022, on Boulevard 14/32 – the entertainment, leisure and shopping area of Floripa Airport, the Batalha de Danças Urbanas returned to the program of the Desterro Award – Florianópolis Dance Festival .
The competition, in freestyle hip hop, will take place this time at Espaço Lindolf Bell, at the Centro Integrado de Cultura (CIC), a complex that will fully house the 13th edition of the festival, from February 17th to 25th.
Registration must be made, free of charge, at the event secretariat, at CIC, from 15pm on the 25th, the date on which the competition will take place. The presentations by male and female dancers, without division by gender, will begin shortly after the end of the Competitive Exhibition, scheduled for the Ademir Rosa Theater, in the evening.
In the first stage, all registrants will perform individually, with 16 of them selected to proceed. Then, divided into two groups of four pairs, the candidates will compete against each other. Of these, only eight will continue to compete for the four places in the semifinals. Afterwards, once the battles between the four remaining competitors have concluded, the judges will appoint two to compete for 3rd and 4th places and two for the final stage, when the 1st and 2nd best dancers will be known.
The first three placed will receive, respectively, prizes of R$ 2.000, R$ 1.000 and R$ 500. The champion will also be automatically guaranteed in the top 32 of Dyus Kay, a competitive urban dance event, which will take place in June this year, in Lima, Peru.
The selectors will be the choreographers Neguinhasoul, from Criciúma (SC); Grandpa Uantpi, from Forquilhinha (SC); and Yuri Nagashi, from Florianópolis; who will also form the jury.
Sandrinho, from the groups Nostrink and Tribo Uantpi, will control the sound as DJ for all stages, in addition to coordinating the competition.
