At the 8th Mercosul Coproduction Meeting - ECM+LAB 2024, part of the 28th Florianópolis Audiovisual Mercosul (FAM 2024), the EcoVision working group, from the Panvision Cultural Association, will bring essential discussions on how to prepare the audiovisual market for more sustainable practices. The discussion panels will take place on September 06th, 07th and 08th, at the Majestic Palace Hotel, addressing the social, economic and environmental dimensions of sustainability.
EcoVision, committed to promoting sustainability in the audiovisual production environment, is preparing to launch two new tools for Latin American producers at the end of this year: a carbon footprint calculator adapted to CO² emissions in Latin America and a catalog of suppliers with sustainable practices.
The first panel, entitled “Preparing the market for sustainable development”, will be moderated by Marilha Naccari, CEO of Panvision, and will feature the participation of Bruno Levi (Globo) and Luz Molina (ProMálaga - Spain), on September 06th, at 11 am. This session will focus on raising awareness of shared responsibility among suppliers and professionals in the audiovisual sector.
On September 07th, also at 11am, the panel “International Co-production Agreements” will discuss economic sustainability, with the presence of representatives from the National Cinema Agency (ANCINE) and the National Audiovisual Institute of Paraguay (INAP). Finally, on September 08th, the panel on Film Commissions will address the importance of eco-friendliness in the supply chain and co-productions.
In addition to the discussion panels, the ECM+LAB online laboratory has already offered specialized consultancy to the 12 selected projects, highlighting the importance of sustainability in audiovisual production.
At FAM 2024, the film "Los Últimos", by Sebastián Peña Escobar, will address urgent ecological issues, with its premiere scheduled for September 07th, at 20:30 pm.
