From April 28 to 30, 2025, Florianópolis will be the center of debates on public opinion, electoral behavior and political communication with the XI Latin American Congress of WAPOR (World Association for Public Opinion Research), the largest event in Latin America dedicated to the topic. Organized by WAPOR Latinoamérica, with support from UFSC, the meeting will bring together experts from at least 15 countries to discuss the main challenges of contemporary society.
With the theme “Public Opinion, Civics and Global Risks in Latin America”, the congress will have more than 200 academic papers presented in 80 thematic sessions, And 30 panels with experts renowned. Highlights include keynote lectures by Pedro Magalhães (University of Lisbon), Fabian Bosoer (Clarín newspaper) and Felipe Nunes (Quaest).
The program also includes five free workshops, aimed at training professionals to face new technological challenges, such as misinformation, the use of artificial intelligence in research and the impacts of environmental crises on public opinion.
In addition to the academic and technical content, the congress will also be a valuable opportunity to networking, connecting researchers, consultants, professionals from institutes and representatives of institutions such as IPESPE, IPEC, D3SYSTEMS, Konrad Adenauer Foundation, among others.
