President of Comcap, Márius Bagnatti, launched this week the idea of ​​charging a tourist tax to visitors who come to our beaches. It's nothing new. It was pioneered, except for the judgment, by the government of Quebec, in Canada, then expanded to all states. The so-called “taxi free” was also adopted in Europe for a long time, where tourists leaving the country can exchange notes for local products for a percentage in cash. Returning to the Island, the “tour fee” would be more similar to what is being done in Bombinhas and reverted to the municipality in tourist works and preservation of natural assets. Let's see how it will be operationalized.
