Floripa flavor

Next Tuesday, the band Stagium 10 welcomes its guests for a night of tributes to Brazilian composers in the show Pérolas Musicais, within the schedule of CIC 8:30 – Grandes Encontros, from Fundação Catarinense de Cultura. The show will feature the voices of the group Sabor Brasil, Beta Faraco and Jorge Coelho. In the repertoire, composers such as Tom Jobim, Paulinho da Viola, Noel Rosa, Lupicínio Rodrigues, Milton Nascimento, Edu Lobo, in addition to a local artist who is honored at each edition. The band has existed since the 1970s, when it was formed by musicians from the orchestras of Clube Doze de Agosto and Lira Tênis Clube... miss you!

Journalist Ricardo Fabris, councilor and president of the Municipal Chamber of Criciúma, held a special session last week honoring the Union of Journalists of Santa Catarina. Here in the Capital nothing! Fiesc, Udesc and other escs are always remembered by our parliamentarians, but the union that was a bulwark in the redemocratization of Brazil was forgotten.

Wouldn't it be the case that we had more journalists in parliaments!? Accustomed to the day-to-day problems of cities, they could help and give another boost to our legislative houses. And look, we already had councilors in the Capital, deputies and even a senator (Nelson Wedekin) as professional journalists. I started thinking about it... maybe next time.

And now, with the resignation of the boss of FIFA, will the president of the Santa Catarina Football Federation, Delfin de Pádua Peixoto, continue to defend José Maria Marin? Mullets I

On Tuesday I witnessed, alongside my friend Marcos Silveira (the one from Cavaco, isn't there!?) a mullet toss on Barra da Lagoa beach, commanded by Laurentino Chim, a member of the Saragaço network-boat ensemble. It was little... 200 fish. The previous day they had caught 700 mullets. The tendency is to reduce the arrival of our stars close to the beaches, since the boats of caceio cover everything outside.

Just to understand: a single trawler this week caught more than 140 tons of mullet with a caceio net on the way out of Rio Grande do Sul. If they fish down there, how will they get here on the Island?! Another flag of artisanal fishermen: general closure next year. Otherwise, it ends with the mullet party.
