Yesterday, at the age of 70, the sculptor and artist Ivens Machado died. Living for decades between Rio and Sampa, the islander had never exhibited his works, shown in several Bienals, on his native island. In addition to several gigantic works spread across squares and public places in Brazil, his works were also portrayed in an album book.

I put on “face to face” a proposal for a new election for the position of senator, justifying that an eight-year term that has not even reached half of it, should, like that of governor, have another election. But what seems more plausible and fair, as suggested by the reader and friend Raimundo Vieira, is that in the event of impediment by the incumbent, he would assume what followed him in terms of number of votes. The launch took place yesterday at a cocktail party that brought together the press and the trade at Cantina Di Bernardi. The novelty was the massive adhesion of Joinville associates, with 24 bars and restaurants in this edition.
