Casino games are becoming increasingly popular in Brazil. However, choosing between fast-paced games, such as slots and crash games, and live casinos is something that raises doubts among Brazilian gamblers. A recent study published by the bookmaker KTO presented the most striking differences between these two types, to help those who still don't know which type of game they prefer.

Fast-paced games, such as slots and crash games, attract players with their fast-paced dynamics, offering quick spins and often higher multipliers than those found in live games. One example is the Sugar Rush 1000 slot from Pragmatic Play, which recorded a multiplier of over 13.000x in January, while games like Brazilian Lightning Roulette feature more frequent but smaller multipliers, around 500x.

Live casino games, on the other hand, attract players with their immersive experience, real-time interaction with dealers, and higher stakes. Baccarat, for example, had an average bet value of R$89,55, compared to just R$1,26 for slots.

The difference can be explained in part by the difference in game types: live casino allows players to try to be more strategic, while slots are purely random. While fast-paced games attract seven times more active users, live casinos also maintain a consistent base of more loyal and engaged players, the study found.

Promotions are a decisive factor

A decisive factor when choosing between these two categories is the promotions offered. One recent study by ENV Media revealed that special offers are among the main reasons that lead Brazilian players to choose a particular betting site: 62% consider attractive bonuses and promotions to be fundamental, above factors such as variety in betting options (51%) or payment options (50%).

Promotions such as cashback and daily mission bonuses have been gaining prominence in the Brazilian market. At KTO, for example, Daily Missions provide prizes such as free spins and bets upon completing specific challenges, creating constant opportunities for rewards for loyal players. Interested parties can check out all the offers directly on the KTO website, kto.bet.br.

Beware of false promises

While looking for advantageous offers, it is important for gamblers to be aware of false promises about how to win casino games, such as “paying minutes”. Despite the popularity of these so-called “foolproof strategies”, no technique is capable of guaranteeing gains.

Google Trends data shows that methods like Martingale are heavily researched (over 3.400 searches per year). However, simulations by KTO show that even after a promising initial run, these strategies eventually result in significant losses due to the exponential increase in bets.

The survey also revealed that 51% of Brazilian gamblers believe they can manipulate results using strategies shared on social media and chat groups. In practice, these tactics do not change the mathematical probabilities of games, especially slots and crash games, which operate with RNG (Random Number Generator) technology to provide randomness.

In this context, players should be cautious with information obtained from social networks and messaging groups, which account for 62% of sources of information about strategies, according to the study. Many of these groups disseminate illusory techniques or "insider information" that have no basis in reality and can often lead gamblers to risky behavior.

New Betting Law

Brazilian gambling legislation has undergone recent changes that have significantly altered the way the sector operates. The new Betting Law establishes clear guidelines for the online gambling market, which also includes casino games offered by legal operators.

Among the requirements, the most important is the obligation that all websites licensed to operate online games in the country adopt the specific domain ".bet.br". Given this new regulated model, KTO, for example, began using the address kto.bet.br, aligning itself with legal standards and ensuring reliability for Brazilian bettors.

Registration at betting houses has also undergone changes. All accounts must undergo geolocation verification and facial recognition, requirements that reinforce concerns about user security and protection against fraud and criminal use of online betting.

Another important new feature that the regulation of betting houses brought to Brazilian players was the limitation of payment methods, which can now only be made via PIX, bank transfer or debit. In return, sites are required to process all withdrawal requests within two hours.

The expectation is that all these measures will further boost the growth of the iGaming market in the country. After the sanction of the Betting Law, in December 2023, the betting and gaming sector hired 37% more in the first four months of 2024 than in the same period of the previous year.
