Secretary of Planning for the government of Santa Catarina, Murilo Flores, in an interview with CBN Diário radio, declared that the cost of restoring the Hercílio Luz bridge amounts to almost 500 million. He opposed his boss, Raimundo Colombo, who was infuriated by the Jornal Nacional report saying that the government had spent half a billion reais on the Island-Continent connection. The truth is that the maintenance of our postcard is becoming more and more controversial and mysterious. Even worse is knowing that all this can come crashing down...Literally. No one can guarantee that changing its structure will keep our architectural heritage standing.

How much would a new bridge cost at the same location at Hercílio Luz, given that it was the most studied and the best point when the first Island-Continent connection was designed? It is already starting to think that a new bridge, in the same suspension style and even with two floors in two hands and its system of exits and entrances of transit practically ready, is the best and cheapest solution for a new access.

“Arte Solidária” is the name of the exhibition and auction to help maintain Casalar Emaús, which takes place from October 15th to 23rd. There are 45 paintings and 10 sculptures, donated by several artists, such as Luciano Martins, Silvio Pléticos, Rubens Oestroen, Juarez Machado, among others, which will be available at Palácio Cruz e Souza. And on the 23rd, the charity auction will take place with income for the institution that welcomes children from 6 to 12 years old, founded by the Emmaus Movement of the Archdiocese of the Capital.
