Artist from Minas Gerais opens the exhibition calendar at Galeria Lama.

Born in Minas Gerais, the artist ciber_org opens the 2026 exhibition calendar at Lama GalleryHolding a Master's degree in Contemporary Artistic Processes from the State University of Santa Catarina (Udesc), the artist will inaugurate the exhibition “Identity is an island of editing."Admission is free."

Curated by Débora Pazetto, the exhibition brings together 16 works that span various mediums, including sculpture, installation, video performance, photography, and augmented reality. According to ciber_org, the exhibition seeks to propose a bold reflection by reinterpreting everyday objects such as syringes, hormone ampoules, gauze, electronic circuits, and testogenic seeds, transforming them into works of art.

During the visit, visitors will be able to see epoxy resin artworks that encapsulate syringes as archaeological relics of a transition, electronic circuits that interact with hormones and question the extent to which biology is destiny or fiction.

“I seek to challenge notions of identity, corporeality, and the relationship between human beings and technology. Therefore, I want people to leave the exhibition with fewer certainties and more questions. My works speak to everyone's right to self-fiction. After all, to imagine oneself is an act of freedom, and sometimes, of survival,” the artist emphasizes.

Performance at the opening

Also on Wednesday the 14th, the artist will present the performance “Bofe”. Based on the performative reading ciber_org, he presents unique moments from his history as an LGBT+ person: the first time a woman read him as a man, his first consultation at the Trans Clinic in Belo Horizonte, and the understanding of his transmasculine identity beyond the boundaries of the word "Man". Mixing humor and social critique, this performance leads the viewer to question the limits of what they understand by gender and gender transition.

The program for “Identity is an Island of Editing” also includes two guided tours on January 24th, one at 15 pm and the other at 7 pm. The closing event is scheduled for Saturday, February 19th.

Galeria Lama is located at Rua João Pinto, 198 or Rua Antônio (Nico) Luz, 159, in the center of Florianópolis/SC. Admission to the exhibition is free and it can be visited from Wednesday to Saturday, from 6 PM to midnight.

about the artist

Originally from Nova Lima/MG, ciber_org, a transmasculine person, holds a bachelor's degree in Visual Arts from the Federal University of Minas Gerais (UFMG) and is pursuing a master's degree in Contemporary Artistic Processes at the State University of Santa Catarina (Udesc). They investigate the construction of identity in the 21st century, employing image-conceptual triangulations that distort, blur, and suspend the boundaries between real and virtual, online and offline, man and woman, human and machine.

As a transmedia artist, she presents works in various languages, such as video art, installation, augmented reality, sculpture, and internet-connected performance. Her practice lies at the intersection between her experience as a gender-dissident body and her previous experience as a programmer and data engineer.

In a ubiquitous, connected, and hyper-fragmented world shaped by the technologies present in our daily lives, ciber_org bets on hybridity as an artistic-conceptual strategy to imagine new possibilities for the body and the world.
