Exhibition 'Quilombolas: In Jacintha's Lands'

The ancestral heritage and strength of the Quilombo Vidal Martins are highlighted in the exhibition. "Quilombolas: In Jacintha's Lands", by the artist Radilson Carlos Gomes da Silva, which opens in Thursday, December 4, at 17h, and on Cultural Gallery of the Public Market of Florianópolis.

With 22 analog photographs made using the technique Lick LickThe exhibition portrays five months of living with the only quilombola community in the capital. "Each image is a fragment of memory, a testament to the resistance and connection of this community with its territory," says Radilson.

The exhibition juxtaposes the analog and the digital to reveal stories of struggle, identity, and cultural preservation. Radilson, known for humanitarian work such as Floripa in 3x4 e Haiti BombayHe emphasizes: "I hope the public feels the strength and dignity of the Quilombola community of Rio Vermelho."

The visit goes up to February 6, 2026, Monday to Friday, 12am to 18pm, at the Public Market Cultural Gallery. Project funded by Aldir Blanc Law (PNAB) and by Regulatory Framework for the Promotion of Culture.
