From March 20th to 23rd, Florianópolis will host the 12th Cultural Marathon, which will promote 326 free cultural events in 68 locations, bringing together music, theater, dance, cinema, popular culture, and more.
Considered the largest free multicultural festival in Southern Brazil, it will feature four days of programming (officially announced on the Maratona Cultural website).
The events take place in various locations, including the Historic Center, Lagoa da Conceição, the North of the Island, Coqueiros, Itaguaçu, Carvoeira, João Paulo, Campeche, and Rio Tavares.
Among the highlights are: at Arena Floripa, in the Francisco Dias Velho Metropolitan Park, two big names in contemporary Brazilian music will perform: Joelma, andMarch 21 and Marisa Monte in March 22nd (Saturday and Sunday).
Mini-marathon at a new location
One of the new features of this edition is the new location for the already traditional Maratoninha, a space dedicated to children's programming. This time, the activities will take place at Parque da Luz, in the city center, on March 22nd and 23rd.
Among the most anticipated attractions is Adriana Calcanhotto with the Partimpim project, who will perform on Monday. March 23, Florianópolis' anniversary, closing the Mini-Marathon with a show aimed at children.
Cinema on the Rosary Staircase
Another highlight of the program is the free screening of the film "The Secret Agent," directed by Kleber Mendonça Filho, Brazil's representative at the 2026 Oscars, with four nominations. The screening will take place on Friday. March 20th, on the Rosary Staircase.
Among the dozens of films selected for this edition are the recently released "Livros Restantes" (Remaining Books), starring Denise Fraga, and the film "Dias Extraordinários" (Extraordinary Days), from Santa Catarina.
Tickets for Arena Floripa and indoor venues

The 12th Florianópolis Cultural Marathon is an event organized by the Cultural Marathon Institute, the Ministry of Culture, and the Federal Government.
The event is made possible through the Rouanet Law and the Municipal Law for Cultural Incentive, in the donation modality. It has sponsorship from Mercado Livre, Aurora Coop, Sicoob and Teltec Solutions. Cultural support from IBAGY, WKoerich, Cassol Centerlar, CDL and Iber Músicas.
The Cultural Marathon also has institutional support from the City Hall of Florianópolis, through the Department of Culture, Sport and Leisure and the Franklin Cascaes Cultural Foundation of Florianópolis.
