Forró with Rasteira – DeRaiz

Live forró day at DeRaiz with Creeping Herb Trio. The group brings a repertoire with classic songs from baião, quadrilha, xaxado, xote, drag-pé, bate-chinela and other forró rhythms. In addition, the trio sings their own compositions and those of other artists from Florianópolis.

The trio Erva Rasteira is a remnant of a project that began in 1999, in Florianópolis, when forró was resurfacing, with names like “Falamansa” popping up all over Brazil.

At that time the band was made up of seven musicians, founders of Erva Rasteira. Coming from the reggae band “Tatuíra”, Késia Alves on vocals, Kiko Knabben on tambourine and percussion and Guto Costa on zabumba, they created “Erva Rasteira” inviting musicians Henrique Soares on vocals and triangle, from the band “Ilha de Nós”, Vicente Piacentini on guitar, Andrey Riley on bass and violinist Bruno Jacomel from Camerata Florianópolis. A few years later, with the departure of Vicente, Andrey and Guto Costa, the group was joined by guitarist Marcos Vinícius (Lêle), bassist Beto Azavedo (Sabiá) and percussionist Andre FM on zabumba.

The Sanfona became part of the group even later, placing greater emphasis on the characteristics of forró.
