The first Oktoberfest in Brazil, as the residents of Itapiranga like to mention, celebrates dance, folklore and typical German cuisine. Since 1978, the opening and closing of the traditional festival have taken place in one of the city's main German centers, Linha Becker. On other days, celebrations are held at the Oktoberfest Complex.
Each year, more than 500 thousand people visit Oktoberfest Blumenau and experience the love for traditions, music, dance, typical costumes and typical cuisine.
