In this edition of Sexta Jazz, the instrumentalists pay tribute to another jazz genius, the American pianist Thelonious Monk. With his unique style of improvising and playing, Monk did with two or three notes what other pianists did with nine or ten and left his mark by composing several themes that are now considered standards, such as epistrophy, Round Midnight, Blue Monks, Straight no chaser e Well, You Needn’t.
Para interpretar o repertório deste mestre, dois expoentes da cena instrumental paulistana – Vinícius Chagas (saxofone) e Jonathan Vargas (piano) – dividem o palco com os músicos Tie Pereira (contra-baixo acústico), Mauro Borghezan (bateria).
