Produced by local artists, the recital will feature a selection of anonymous old Brazilian songs, compositions by Chiquinha Gonzaga, Sérgio Bittencourt, Villa-Lobos and Chico Buarque, among others. Works brought together to pay homage to Modinha, a Brazilian song that deals with love in more lyrical terms.
It originated in Portugal, was brought here, became Brazilian and became highly popular. The modinhas touched upon the basic elements of Brazilian music and are still successful today. The recital brings to the stage the experience of being at a party among friends, with sopranos Claudia Ondrusek and Kalinka Damiani, with guitarist Igor Ishikawa and cellist Daniel Galvão.
