Dona Bilica is a character created by the actress Vanderléia Will. It emerged in 1991 from several field research carried out in the interior of the island of Florianópolis, observing the way of being, thinking and living of the natives and former residents of our island. Dona Bilica performs as a lacemaker, washerwoman, healer, and interacts with the Boi de Mamão and the public. In the course of the scene, she tells stories and beliefs of our oral culture, stories of witches, werewolves in a comical and fun way that enchants children and makes adults laugh.
