Giselle show

Giselle, a production of Pro-Music Florianópolis with members of Brazilian Ballet Company, from Bemo Company (from the Municipal Theater of Rio de Janeiro) and the couple from First Dancers of the Salzburg Ballet (Austria), is performed on the stage of Pedro Ivo Theater, on July 10th and 11th, at 20:30 pm. The title role is played by dancer Márcia Jaqueline.

The presentations, with general direction by Neyde Coelho (president of Pró-música Florianópolis), produced by Joice Dela Rocca and local artistic direction by Álvaro Guimarães, open the institution's show season in the second half of 2018. Pró-Música Florianópolis is one of the most traditional and renowned cultural entities in Santa Catarina. Created in 1973, it was a pioneer in the production of classical music shows in the state capital.

Synopsis: The story is about the power of a woman's love in the face of betrayal, with Giselle being one of the most technically demanding and emotionally challenging roles in classical dance. The ballet has two acts, with a total of two and a half hours long, which accentuates the contrasts as the story evolves between the human and supernatural worlds.
