Floripa Quilt launches program of courses and workshops.

The 13th edition of Floripa Quilt (Patchwork, Textile Art & Rag Doll Festival) brings together a special program of courses and workshops focused on the exchange of knowledge and technical improvement.

It happens on days April 22nd to 25th, The event will take place at the Events Center of the Santa Catarina Medical Association (ACM). Registration is now open on the event's official website.

Created in 2012 to celebrate textile art, the festival offers activities for different audiences (from beginners to experienced practitioners) to expand the repertoire of techniques and creative possibilities in the world of handicrafts, with teachers from Brazil and abroad.

April 22

Creating Quilts with AI (Marina Landi) 9h of the 16h: transforming images, such as family photos, landscapes, or abstract compositions, into original quilts.

9pm to 16pm: Decorative Quilt (Valéria Cervetto): planning and conception of the work.

April 23

9pm to 16pm: MMy village – Needle application (Adriana Sleutjes): step-by-step technique, from preparation to finishing the pieces.

9pm to 16pm: Fabric painting with dye (Márcio Lima): focus on applying colors directly to the textile surface.

13 am - 18 pm: making an adjustable vest that integrates patchwork into fashion (Lia Rosabel).

16:20 am to 18:30 am: Copyright in Textile Art (with international guest Montserrat Durán, from Costa Rica).

April 24

9 am - 16 pmChilean artist Maria Paz Ávalos guides the creation of a quilt/mural combining improvised curves, hand cutting, and partial sewing.

9pm to 16pm: Argentinian Patricia García Uriburu presents the course in a Baltimore-style block format, inspired by the theme. Island Corner.

April 25

9 am - 16 pmElis Marina Sehnem Engels delves into intermediate to advanced level traditional patchwork techniques in the course. Dalia

9 am - 12 pmArgentinian Marisol Romero leads the creation of a maxi throw for the sofa;

9 am - 16 pmMarina Landi returns with a workshop dedicated to creating textile landscapes using techniques such as artistic quilting, organza painting, and fabric dyeing.

13 am - 17 pmUruguayan Virginia D'Alto Oberti teaches the felting process on cotton gauze.
