The Gruve-se Collective is promoting free workshops and a dance battle in Morro da Penitenciária.

O Penitentiary Hill It will host a free cultural program on August 2nd and 16th, promoted by Gruve-se CollectiveThe activities include urban dance workshops, a discussion panel, and the fourth edition of the Gruve-se Battle, an open-style dance competition with live instrumental music.

The program starts this Saturday (2), at 13:30 pm, with an urban dance workshop open to participants of all ages and experience levels. On the 16th, starting at 13 pm, the public can watch DJ performances, a discussion panel about the participation of women and LGBTQIAPN+ people in Hip Hop, as well as a dance battle.

The project was awarded the Elisabete Anderle Prize for Cultural Promotion – 2025 Edition and has resources from the Government of the State of Santa Catarina, through the Santa Catarina Cultural Foundation (FCC). The activities will have sign language interpreters, accessible restrooms, and free adapted transportation for people with reduced mobility, the elderly, pregnant women, and breastfeeding mothers.

The events will take place at the end of Rua Nova, in Morro da Penitenciária, Florianópolis. Participation is free, with registration on-site or in advance via the website: https://encurtador.com.br/WexA.
