Avante Cultural Recreational Sports Association

The Associação Recreativa Cultural Esportiva Avante was founded on March 30, 1947, under the name Avante Futebol Clube, in a meeting held at the headquarters of Clube 7 de Setembro. At the beginning of its career, the association focused mainly on maintaining a football team, made up of fans from the region. Only in 1953, after differences between the directors of the two clubs, it was decided to build its own headquarters, on land donated by Arnaldo Lisboa, on Rua Cônego Serpa. Since the construction of its headquarters, Avante has grown, offering, in addition to sporting activities, dances and periodic parties. At the same time, the Clube 7 de Setembro went into decline and closed its activities in 1963. In 1980, on the right bank of the Caminho dos Açores, the Deputado Henrique de Arruda Ramos sports square was inaugurated, consisting of an official football field, football court Swiss, parking, bar and changing rooms.
