Synopsis:
The youngest of King Triton's (Javier Bardem) daughters, Ariel (Halle Bailey) is a beautiful and spirited young mermaid with a thirst for adventure. Wanting to find out more about the world beyond the sea, Ariel visits the surface and falls head over heels in love with dashing Prince Eric (Jonah Hauer-King) as she saves him from a shipwreck. But to look for him on dry land and approach the human prince, the mermaid asks the sea witch, Ursula (Melissa McCarthy), for help and agrees to give up her voice so that the sorceress can give her legs. Now, she will have the challenge of communicating with the boy when experiencing life on land, in addition to conflicting with her family's values.
