Cachoeira do Poção is located in the Córrego Grande neighborhood, 2,4 km from the main road that cuts through the region, Rua João Pio Duarte Silva.
Access is easy, just go to the final stop of the Córrego Grande bus, going up Rua Sebastião Laurentino da Silva. At the end, there is a small path on the right, which leads to the waterfall.
The walk takes approximately 20 minutes and covers a distance of approximately 585 meters. The trail is light, following the stream, always surrounded by trees and the aqueduct of the Water and Sanitation Company (Casan).
The Waterfall, small and exuberant, has approximately five meters of waterfall. At the base, a small natural pool with a depth of 3 meters justifies the name of the place, Poção. The waterfall is surrounded by walls of up to ten meters in height, from where the bravest people throw themselves headlong. But worth the warning, the place does not have lifeguard monitoring.
In summer, especially during the weekends, the place is overcrowded by tourists and residents of nearby neighborhoods. At this station, it is common to find garbage in and around the water. The best time to visit Cachoeira do Poção is in the low season, when the place is clean and the water fresh. Therefore, it is worth remembering, take your garbage with you, respect nature.
