The east coast of Santa Catarina Island, in Florianópolis, is a paradise for nightlife and nautical and radical sports. In the hills, paragliders fly. In the waves of Joaquina and Mole beaches there is a lot of surfing. In the dunes of Joaca (Praia da Joaquina) surfing is practiced in the sand where Sandboarding was born.
Lagoa is always a sure bet for fun. By day, the waters bring together windsurfing, kitesurfing, kayaks, stand-up, pedal boats, schooners, sailing boats, jet skis and speedboats. At night, lots of music and flirting. Going to eat in Costa da Lagoa is the perfect outing for families. Galheta beach is the place reserved for naturists.
Barra da Lagoa, the largest fishing center on the island, is busy all year round.
And Praia do Moçambique, the largest on the island, is popular for its untouched nature.
