Portrait of a young woman on fire

France, 1760. Marianne is commissioned to paint the wedding portrait of Héloïse, a young woman who has just left the convent. Because she is a reluctant bride, Marianne arrives in the guise of company, watching Héloïse by day and secretly painting her at night. As the two women grow closer, their intimacy and attraction grow, as they share Héloise's first and last moments of freedom before their impending marriage. Héloïse's portrait soon becomes a collaborative act and a testament to their love.
