Sobibor

When he was a prisoner of war in Sobibor, Pechersky managed to do the impossible: organize a mutiny that resulted in the mass escape of prisoners there. Many of the fugitives were later captured and killed – the rest, led by Pechersky, managed to join their compatriots and thicken the Russian defensive lines.
