The Man Who Killed Don Quixote

When making his graduation film, the young filmmaker Toby travels to Spain to film an independent version of Don Quixote. For the lead actor, he casts a local shoemaker who has never worked in the movies before. Twelve years pass, and Toby, now a renowned director of television commercials, has the opportunity to make a super production also based on Cervantes' book. He returns to Spain, begins recording, but soon faces a creative crisis. Seeking inspiration, he tries to find the actors from the previous project. Toby discovers that the shoemaker has gone mad, and actually believes he is Don Quixote. Even worse, the mad knight mistakes Toby for his faithful squire, Sancho Panza.
