Cicero, a 12-year-old boy, finds his father dead in the bathroom, victim of a massive heart attack. His mother, who spends long periods away from home working, is filming a documentary in the Amazon rainforest. She returns for the funeral in São Paulo, and Cícero convinces her to take her father's ashes to her hometown in the northeast of the country. On the road, mother and son are reunited in the midst of the scorching sun of the northeastern semi-arid region, crossed by channels of transposition of the waters of the São Francisco River, reinventing the narrative of affection.
