Set in 1945 Leningrad, Iya and Masha are two young women looking for hope and meaning amid the wreckage left behind in Russia after World War II. The siege of Leningrad, one of the most brutal in history, has come to an end, but rebuilding their lives remains a situation surrounded by death and trauma.
