Holt Farrier is a former circus star who returns from the war and finds his world turned upside down: the circus he worked for is having a hard time, and he is tasked with caring for a newborn elephant, whose giant ears him a joke. However, Holt's children discover that the little elephant is capable of an enormous feat.
