Set in Sacramento, California, in 2002, the film follows Lady Bird, who is in her senior year of high school and has no idea what to do after she graduates. Her coexistence with her mother, a nurse, is suffocating. Everything that is happening in Lady Bird's life only leaves her more and more bewildered.
