O Carnival of the Ancients, with the Dbregas Drama Band, has been rescuing the joy of the old ballroom carnivals from the tombs for 7 years - with their Pierrots, harlequins e Colombians. This 7th edition is held in Nau Catarineta Cultural Center. The theme of this issue is "Unleash Your Beasts".
There are people who ask what the relationship of the carnivals of yore with the cheesy one of the biggest dicks in town, but just look at these characters to understand: Pierrô is the naive and sad servant who suffers for his platonic love; Columbina is a beautiful and intelligent woman of the people who ends up being enchanted by the Harlequin - also from the same social level and who falls ardently in love with the girl, but who is much more cool and roguish than her competitor. The first writes several love letters, which does not prevent the girl from marrying Harlequin. One day, however, Columbine finds one of these letters and, realizing the purity of this love, she decides to leave Harlequin to live with Pierrot. Even so, despite this happy love, the charming servant never forgets the seductive Harlequin and lives looking for him in the city's carnivals.
The party starts early - at 20 pm -, in the mood of happy hour of Santo Antônio de Lisboa - even more with the traditional food from the boteco do Santo Appetito Café & Bistro and, of course, the festive company of the most caruda, colorful and modest of the area.
