Born in Mississippi, Linsey "Hoochie Man" Alexander has been a part of the Chicago blues scene for 5 decades, playing with the likes of BB King, Little Milton, Buddy Guy, Magic Slim and so many others. His blues has a characteristic vitality, and he is a showman himself, engaging and captivating audiences from the start.
One of the last representatives of a generation that will be part of our fondest memories, in 2014, Hoochie Man released a new CD, come back baby, with tones ranging from classic to contemporary blues, in addition to being honored as a Blues Legend by the Chicago Blues Hall of Fame.
In the first edition of Chicago Connection, in 2013, Linsey filled the CIC Theater, when it was still unknown around here and the project was just starting. The audience cheered when the bluesman got down on one knee at the feet of island singer Bruna Góes, our Amy Winehouse. This year, the surprise will be Fernanda Marcon, who in 2013 starred in Adele's special.
The band that will accompany the bluesman this year will be formed by a selection of the best musicians from Santa Catarina. on guitars, André Seben (from the band Os Chiefs) and Luciano Bilu, on the keyboard, Johnny Sonntag, on the battery, Raphael Bastos (official Chicago Connection drummer), on harmonica, Fernando Santos, in the sax, Rafael Thiesen, on trombone, Aurelius Martins and on the trumpet, Rafael Silva.
