O Deep Purple is one of the greatest bands in rock history, and is touring the world promoting their new album Now What?!, the first work with new songs in the last eight years. The tour passes through six Brazilian cities, and Florianópolis is one of the destinations.
Contemporary of Black Sabbath and Led Zeppelin, Deep Purple is one of the pioneers of hard rock and heavy metal. Over his nearly 50-year career, he also included elements of blues, classical music and progressive rock in his songs. The band's lineup has undergone several changes over time, and is currently composed of Ian Gillan (vocal), Ian Paice (drums and percussion), Roger Glover (low), Steve Morse (guitar) and Don Airey (organ and keyboard).
