O union of Hotels, Restaurants, Bars and Similar in Florianópolis offers waiter, receptionist, maid, housekeeper and bar tender courses. All courses are developed in a theoretical and practical way and cover topics such as communication, hygiene, excellence in service, quality of work performed and the relationship between employee and employer. To participate in the waiter, maid and bar tender courses, the person interested must have elementary school up to 4th grade. High school or higher education is required for the housekeeper course and computer skills are also required for the receptionist course. The courses have a total of 20 hours per week each and the student receives a handout and certificate of participation.
