Born in Sambaqui, Elias Andrade, better known as an Indian, is probably the best painter who most beautifully exposes the colorful soul of the magical and enchanting Santa Catarina Island. Passionate about nature and faithful to the city's traditions, customs and folklore, Índio paints on his canvases fishermen, fish trawlers, bicycle rides, mermaids, parties and a lot of typical portraits of Florianópolis.
