On June 09, at 18 pm, in the building attached to the Chapel of the Divine Espírito Santo, located at Praça Getúlio Vargas (also known as Praça dos Brotherhood of the Divine Holy Spirit (Ides) opens the exhibition More than two centuries of history. Ides was established on June 10, 1773. Since then, it has contributed to the preservation of Azorean religious and cultural traditions, mainly through the Festa do Divino, which was recently considered Cultural Heritage of the State of Santa Catarina. Founded during the reign of Dom João VI, it survived the Empire, the Republic (with 40 Presidents), exceptional periods and Parliamentarianism. Today, the Brotherhood is one of the most respected Non-Governmental Organizations in our State, developing projects that serve more than 750 children and adolescents daily. The exhibition summarizes some of the work carried out by the Brotherhood over more than two centuries and how, over time, it has adapted and reinvented itself, assuming an important position in the social and cultural context of Florianópolis.
