Santa Catarina visual artist Evandro Machado produces several films about his life. All of them have a definite end: the author's own death. Invited by the Museum of Art of Santa Catarina (Masc), since the beginning of December, Evandro has held an artistic residency within the Clarabóia program, where he presents his cinematographic project: The term, which consists of a series of animated videos. The most recent was produced at the end of last month and is on display at the Masc Video Room until the 6th.
There are 11 videos so far, one being produced per year, each lasting 3 minutes and 33 seconds. Time, as Evandro justifies, is an analogy to the idea of continuity and "almost infinity". The narrative construction also obeys a pattern: the acts of waking up, working and dying - and each time, in a different way.
