A Badesc Cultural Foundation presents, exhibition opposites of us, by visual artist Aguiar Marina. Through embroideries made on photocopy engravings, the Exhibition proposes to rethink the look at the female body, taking into account subjectivities, trajectories and roots.
According to the artist, the fact that the embroidery can be exposed in its duality, showing right and wrong, brings the idea of the representation of the female body figure that must also be shown in this duality, in view of the possibility of giving narrative and living with a “fetishized” and “objectified” body for so long in the history of art.
Marina de Aguiar has a degree in visual arts from the State University of Santa Catarina (Udesc). She works with different media, dialoguing between engraving, painting, collage and embroidery.
