Sample of Regina Parra, composed of two videos, presents attempts to meet and get closer to foreigners who chose to live in Brazil. In 7.536 Steps (for a geography of proximity), the artist walks from ground zero in the city of São Paulo towards a community of Bolivians, located in a neighboring neighborhood. The number that entitles the video refers to the steps taken to meet the immigrants, most of them working under slavery. The video was awarded and commissioned by the V Videoart Contest of Fundação Joaquim Nabuco (Recife, Pernambuco). Pearls, As I Wrote You was made in arid terrain, the video brings together immigrants from countries such as Argentina, Bolivia, Colombia, Congo, Guinea and Peru, all illegal residents in Brazil.
