A Honey Fair is an event in which beekeepers from all over the state take their bee products with due sanitary inspection to market in the state capital. This year would be the 21st edition, which due to the coronavirus pandemic, was postponed. However, the fair took on a new shape and size, adapting to the reality of avoiding agglomerations and respecting distancing. As a result of this, the 1st Virtual Honey Fair of Santa Catarina, which runs from the 01st to the 31st of July and is totally online.
Consumers from several cities in Santa Catarina and Brazil will be able to purchase the products online through the website www.faasc.com.br/feiradomel, and welcome them to their homes. There are more than 30 exhibitors from all over the state, and a variety of products, such as honey from different blooms, propolis, compound honey, royal jelly, beeswax, candies, cookies, cosmetics, honey bread, honey cake, teas, cachaça, vodka with honey, honeycombs and pollen. In addition, as in the face-to-face fair, the price per kg of honey will be fixed, and honey-based recipes will be made available on the website for consumers.
The Fair is organized by FAASC (Federation of Associations of Beekeepers and Meliponicultores of Santa Catarina), Epagri and Sebrae/SC in partnership with beekeepers from Santa Catarina.
