O Forró Catarina collective was created in 2018 with the purpose of creating and strengthening a unity between musicians of the genre, providing more and more joy to the forró scene on the island of Santa Catarina.
Through elements of contemporary music the Mauê band brings a new translation of traditional rhythms such as Baião, Xote, Coco and Maracatu. Influenced by great masters such as Luiz Gonzaga, Dominguinhos, Mestre Ambrósio, Macaíba and others, they bring in their luggage the CD “Elevar” released at the end of 2015 and their new work “O Baião Transcendental”, which with a lot of energy, guitar arrangements, , voices and others, don't let anyone stand still!
Most of the forró bands from Florianópolis are part of the Collective, where every Friday, at 22 pm, some of the bands of the collective perform. Dance classes at the beginning of the events with Professor Rafael Borges.
