One of the icons of Santa Catarina music from the 80s, the group Rural Express, appeared in 1981 in Florianópolis. Strongly inspired by groups like 14 Bis and Boca Livre, with hints of rural rock, the band soon conquered the city. They gained recognition from the media, mainly for their melody, harmonious vocals and Daniel's songs, which earned them a one-hour TV special, broadcast throughout the state.
After a while, the band ended up meeting again in 1991 for a single concert to celebrate 10 years in Floripa, bringing together all the original components. In 2007, Expresso Rural returns with the name and the original line-up in a show at Teatro do CIC, reviving the first hits in acoustic versions.
