The musicians take the stage to present a repertoire filled with traditional jazz, hot jazz and swing. Sweet Malagueta is a band formed in Brazil by the meeting of four Argentines and two Brazilians living in Florianópolis, each with their jazz background and thirst for good music. A group dedicated to the investigation of the roots of jazz, to rescue a repertoire generally forgotten by modern groups and bring back the social role that this music had at that time: the link with dance and fun. For this, the group is based on recordings and interviews from almost 100 years ago, with references to the most notable personalities of the time such as Jelly Roll Morton, Louis Armstrong, Fletcher Henderson, Duke Ellington among others, adapting and recreating arrangements to get closer to the style. traditional 1920s/40s with current instruments.
