O Xaxado New it rescues a traditional baião formation to pay homage to great masters of Brazilian popular culture and propose a musical tour of the different cultures that contributed to the formation of northeastern music, such as the gypsy and Arab peoples. Formed by musicians who research traditional cultures, the group goes beyond the musical part, involving performances and interventions in their presentations. Gonzaga already said that before the accordion arrived in the backlands, forrós were performed with the fiddle. The instrument, which has its origins in the Arabic 'rebab', spread in the Northeast as early as the 18th century, brought by the Portuguese. Whether in the research of old themes in eight-bass accordions, or in the study of xaxado itself - a dance that became popularized by the famous Lampião band, Xaxado Novo merges a melting pot of ancestry and experimentation, portraying the best of Brazilian culture, in an original and captivating way.
