Synopsis: In a small corner of Europe, passengers on a train are stranded due to a blizzard and are forced to stay overnight in a small inn. There a rich young woman meets an old governess and they arrange to meet the next day on the train. However, shortly after the trip begins, the housekeeper disappears and no one, for various reasons, claims to have seen the missing person. She persists in her investigations and ends up convincing a musicologist, with whom she had fallen out the day before.

Synopsis: Alex Medford (Cher), Jane Spofford (Susan Sarandon) and Sukie Ridgemont (Michelle Pfeiffer) live in Eastwick and are unhappy. Lonely, needy and sexually repressed, they imagine the ideal man and are surprised by the arrival of the seductive and mysterious Daryl Van Horne (Jack Nicholson) in town.
