With stories of life and resistance about the strength of the culture of black people in Brazil, the feature film Who needs ID? has a premiere at Robotics Cinema of the Integrated Cultural Center (CIC), on March 5, at 20 pm.
Synopsis: The narrative is built from discussions by intellectuals and university professors, which are mixed with the stories of Afro-Brazilian, Haitian and African characters of various nationalities. “I fulfill myself by listening to stories and giving voice to those stories. This work, in particular, is intense and challenging because it deals with a strong and delicate subject such as structural racism in Brazil”, comments Kátia Klock.
A co-production by Contraponto and Manacá Cine for the CineBrasil TV channel, the documentary is directed by Kátia Klock and Márcia Navai, who signs the script with Ana Veiga, and is produced by Lícia Brancher. Among the highlights is the theme song Lugar de Identidade, composed and performed by Marissol Mwaba, with the participation of François Muleka, Dandara Manoela, Alegre Corrêa and Addia Furtado.
