Born on July 26, 1928, in the Bronx, New York, Stanley Kubrick was a filmmaker renowned for his almost unhealthy preciosity. With 13 feature films in his seventy years of life, the director conquered the public and the critics. Interestingly, there were also 13 Oscar nominations and his only win was not as a director or screenwriter, but for the special effects of “2001 – A Space Odyssey”. In the month of March, the Camarim Cineclub honors Kubrick, showing a feature film by the director for free every week. The second feature film of the show is Born to Kill, one of the most famous war films directed by Kubrick. The exhibition is on Sunday, the 08/03.

Movie Synopsis: Private Davis, dubbed "Joker" by hard-line Sergeant Hartman, endures the rigors of basic training and tries to help his derided colleague Lawrence. In preparation, Hartman employs abusive methods to turn his recruits into veritable war machines. Lawrence can't take the pressure, but Joker graduates from the Marine Corps and is sent to Vietnam as a journalist, covering and eventually participating in the bloody Battle of Hué.
